L&M Founded

L&M Corrugated Container Corporation was established in 1979 in Zion, Illinois by Dick Lopes, a well-versed industry executive with prior experience working at a prominent Chicago packaging firm.

2006

L&M expands to Platteville, WI

L&M Expands to Platteville, WI

L&M expanded its operations westward to Platteville, WI. Equipped with the EMBA 245 Flexo Folder Gluer, the Platteville facility allowed L&M to serve new and existing markets in and around the area. Passed down through generations, Steve Lopes, the founder’s son, led the company for many years.

2011

Platteville Office Addition

Platteville Office Addition

Due to growth in the company, L&M’s Platteville location underwent a major remodel and had a large office addition.

2012

J&L Installation

The purchase and installation of a J&L gluer at the Zion, IL plant enhanced our ability to glue specialty cartons.

2013

Pleasant Prairie

Due to growth and improvement, we moved our Zion, IL manufacturing operations to Pleasant Prairie, WI.

2014

Baysek C170 Machine Installation

To expand and improve production at the Platteville facility, a new machine, the Baysek C170, was purchased and installed. The Baysek is a quick setup machine that die cuts, strips, and stacks in one operation.

2015

EMBA 170

L&M purchased and installed the EMBA 170 Flexo Folder Gluer (Mini) for the Pleasant Prairie location.

2016

Platteville Warehouse

A warehouse was added at the Platteville location to help with expanding sales.

2017

The Addition of Robots

L&M purchased two robots for the EMBA 245 and McKinley Die Cutter machines.

2019

New Machine & New Location

The Platteville location installed the Apstar machine to help amplify products. Additionally, L&M’s Fox Valley location in Kimberly, WI opened as a Sales and Design Center.

2022

Equipment & Building Expansions

The Platteville location underwent a fourth addition and a second EMBA 245 machine with a robot and load turner was purchased and installed.

2023

New President

Having played a significant role in the company while working alongside his father Steve Lopes, Steven Lopes, Dick’s grandson, became President of L&M.

2024

First in the Nation

Steven Lopes assumed the role of CEO and the Pleasant Prairie location added a Göpfert RDC HBL-DRS, a 5-color rotary machine with a dual die cutter; the first of its kind in the nation.
