L&M expanded its operations westward to Platteville, WI. Equipped with the EMBA 245 Flexo Folder Gluer, the Platteville facility allowed L&M to serve new and existing markets in and around the area. Passed down through generations, Steve Lopes, the founder’s son, led the company for many years.
To expand and improve production at the Platteville facility, a new machine, the Baysek C170, was purchased and installed. The Baysek is a quick setup machine that die cuts, strips, and stacks in one operation.
The Platteville location installed the Apstar machine to help amplify production. Additionally, L&M’s Fox Valley location in Kimberly, WI opened as a Sales and Design Center.
Having played a significant roles in the company while working alongside his father, Steve Lopes, Steven Lopes, Dick’s grandson, became President of L&M.
Steven Lopes assumed the roled of CEO and the Pleasant Prairie location added a Göpfert RDC HBL-DRS, a 5-color rotary machine with a dual die cutter; the first of its kind in the nation.
